Last week, we alerted you to the plight of two German shepherds and a Belgian Malinois who had reportedly been perpetually confined to cages outside at a property on Plantation Road near Trenton, North Carolina, since January.
A witness reports that the dogs appear to have been moved around on the property over the last week, with one dog now confined to a pen, seemingly still without access to shelter, and the others—apparently still in cages—moved to a large, open-faced, garage-type structure that couldn’t possibly conserve body heat during cold temperatures.
And of course, these high-energy breeds would remain physically and psychologically tortured by such an extraordinary level of confinement. Frustratingly, we’re told that several new-looking doghouses, which had been donated by good Samaritans over the summer, are strewn about the property and unused.
We’re grateful to those of you who implored Jones County officials to confirm that these dogs have been removed from their alleged hell, but it seems that even more encouragement is needed. Please politely urge the following officials to intervene meaningfully, and then forward this alert to everyone you know.
