TeachKind’s tour team has inspired over 100,000 young students at elementary schools, after-school programs, and summer camps across the U.S. to practice empathy for all animals. By leading 30-minute educational presentations alongside one of TeachKind’s animatronic animals—Ellie the elephant or Carly the cow—you could teach the next generation the importance of having compassion for all sentient beings.
As part of TeachKind’s tour crew, you’d travel around the country with a tourmate to host presentations at schools and youth programs—all while getting to explore new towns and cities and check out their vegan food scenes along the way. Talk about an adventure of a lifetime!
If it sounds like you’d be getting paid to have the time of your life, you’re right! But be prepared for hard work. You’d drive from city to city in a box truck, move from hotel to hotel, carefully handle a large animatronic animal, lead assemblies for hundreds of students at a time, set up and break down each presentation, and more.
Not only is this a full-time paid position, the travel and hotel costs are paid and a daily food stipend is provided.
Kids never cease to show us their natural compassion for animals and how deeply Ellie’s and Carly’s messages resonate with them. During presentations, you’d ask students questions like “What can we do to end speciesism and help all animals?” They often respond with thoughtful answers such as “I want to become president and change laws to end speciesism!” “We can eat veggies instead of meat!” and One student even said, “When I get home, I’m going to make a bunch of signs that say ‘Don’t hurt animals’ and stuff!”
After we visited Indiana Math and Science Academy West, the school exclaimed in a Facebook post, “Ellie opened our eyes to the incredible similarities shared between humans and other animals, emphasizing the importance of treating everyone with respect and never tolerating bullying. Through Ellie, we discovered that all living beings have emotions and a strong desire to feel safe and loved. Her presence brought a wave of compassion into our classrooms and community, leaving a profound impact on all of us. … This extraordinary event will undoubtedly create cherished memories that will stay with our students for a lifetime.”
As part of this team, you’d encourage young kids to get active for animals and provide a moving experience about animal rights. Click below and apply today:
If being on the road for months at a time isn’t quite your thing, you can apply to be a TeachKind tour assistant! This is a full-time, remote position that helps TeachKind tours reach even more students, furthering their success. You’d schedule visits to schools and youth programs for the Ellie and Carly tours, help lead training sessions, and more. Plus, you’d get to travel and host presentations as needed.
