Around 70 million dogs and cats are homeless in the U.S. at any given time. Every time a breeder brings another puppy into the world, a dog waiting in an animal shelter or struggling to survive on the streets loses a chance at finding a loving home. The best day of many rescued animals’ lives is the day they’re adopted. You can be a part of a special day like that by adopting an animal in need and giving them the best life possible—what could be better than that?

“I purchased my dog, and I love her. But now that I know more about the homeless-animal crisis, I would never buy another dog again.”

The homeless-animal overpopulation crisis can be overwhelming, but the good news is that additional suffering and death are 100% preventable through spaying and neutering. These are routine, affordable surgeries that can prevent thousands of animals from being born, only to suffer and struggle to survive on the streets, be abused by cruel or neglectful people, or be euthanized in animal shelters for lack of a loving home. Plus, sterilized animals live longer, happier lives!

“The single most important thing that you can do to help end the [homeless-animal] crisis is to get your animal ‘fixed.’”
