A Bull Mastiff named Fronky has a heartwarming and endearing daily routine that never fails to delight those who hear about it. Each morning, without fail, Fronky positions himself eagerly by the front door, signaling to his mom that he’s ready to go outside. His anticipation is palpable as he prepares for his favorite part of the day. Once outside, Fronky settles into the front yard, his eyes fixed on the horizon, waiting patiently for his best friend to arrive. This ritual is a cherished part of Fronky’s day and a testament to his loving nature.
Fronky’s excitement peaks when Shaun, the local mailwoman, makes her appearance. Their unique friendship began when Fronky was just a seven-week-old puppy, and their bond has only strengthened over the years. Seeing Shaun is the highlight of Fronky’s day, and it’s a moment both eagerly anticipate.
Eileen, Fronky’s mom, shared with The Dodo how special their bond is. “When she is at her truck, getting all her packages and getting ready to come to our house, you see his tail wagging furiously. If she takes too long, he gets impatient,” Eileen recounted. Fronky’s joy is evident as he anxiously waits for Shaun to finish her preparations and make her way to their home.
Now a robust 180-pound gentle giant, Fronky could easily jump the front yard fence if he wanted to. However, being the well-behaved dog he is, Fronky always stays on his side, respecting the boundary. This doesn’t prevent him from receiving the affection he craves. Shaun makes sure to shower Fronky with pets and cuddles, much to his delight.
Eileen explained that Shaun had a chocolate lab that passed away, and she believes that Fronky’s affectionate cuddles help fill that void. “I think just having this little break with Fronky helps her and gives her something to look forward to,” Eileen said. This daily interaction not only brings joy to Fronky but also provides a moment of comfort and happiness for Shaun.
The bond between Shaun and Fronky is so strong that Shaun even visits Fronky on her days off. “Shaun has sort of become part of our family,” Eileen shared. “She always misses coming by, and we can’t wait to see her every day. As soon as Fronky hears her voice, he goes wild.” This deep connection highlights the mutual affection and companionship they share.
According to Hill’s Pets, Fronky’s affection for Shaun is unusual for his breed. Bull Mastiffs are known to be gentle and affectionate with family members but often suspicious of strangers. However, Fronky’s behavior suggests he sees Shaun as a member of his family, making their relationship even sweeter.
Eileen finds great joy in watching the daily ritual unfold. “I love that it’s a mutual love,” she said about the bond between Fronky and Shaun. “They both look forward to their time together so much.” The pure, unfiltered joy that Fronky exhibits when he sees Shaun is a testament to the strong bond they share.
