After spending most of his life in a neglected and harsh environment in West Phoenix, Arizona, Rango, a Pit Bull/Lab mix, had never known what it felt like to be loved. But one fateful day, his life took a dramatic turn. Rescuers arrived to take him from the property, unaware that this timid and wounded dog would soon blossom into a loving companion. When Rango was brought to Poverty’s Pets, Arizona, his body told a story of pain. He was covered in open sores and infested with ticks.
Understandably, he was also terrified of people, likely due to the traumatic experiences he had endured. However, as Rango began to realize that he was surrounded by kindness, he slowly started to heal—not just physically, but emotionally. His transformation was profound.
As his wounds healed, his true personality emerged, and he became the sweetest, most affectionate dog, eager to show his gratitude to everyone around him. Rango transformed into an exceptionally affectionate dog, wanting to give kisses to everyone.
Rango’s lovable nature soon became apparent to everyone he met. His once shy demeanor was replaced by warmth, and he quickly earned a reputation for his constant kisses and heart-melting smiles. He found a foster home with Lori Jones, who welcomed him with open arms and was amazed by his resilience.
Rango is the epitome of forgiveness. His spirit is both inspiring and resilent. Lori was amazed that a dog could come from where he did and still possess a pure heart, harboring no ill will toward humans. He became a lapband and loved to hold people’s hands. Rango seemed to crave human connection wherever he went, a trait that made him beloved by all who met him.
Despite flourishing in foster care, Rango has yet to find his forever home. He’s been living with Lori for several years, but the perfect family has yet to knock on the door. While Rango enjoys the companionship of his foster family and furry friends, Lori believes that his time will come soon. She’s certain that when his forever family finally arrives, they will be enchanted by his infectious enthusiasm and joyful spirit.
Until that day comes, Rango will continue to spread joy and love in his foster home.
