Siberian Huskies are a captivating breed with their strikingly icy blue eyes, alert, triangular ears, and dense, fluffy coats that make them look like they’ve stepped right out of a winter wonderland. These wolf-like dogs are undeniably beautiful, often drawing admiration wherever they go. But behind their stunning appearance lies a strong-willed, sometimes mischievous personality that can keep even the most seasoned dog owners on their toes. Blu and Luna, two Siberian Huskies with a knack for trouble, keep their mom constantly entertained – and a little exhausted!
Huskies are famous for their vocal personalities. Known as one of the most “talkative” dog breeds, Siberians have an impressive range of sounds at their disposal, from whines and moans to chirps, barks, and dramatic howls. According to Rescue Every Dog, “Siberian Huskies are vocal. They rarely bark but will whine, moan, chirp, and howl. Head held high, they will produce one of the most haunting song-like sounds.” For Husky enthusiasts, this can be delightful – but for the unsuspecting neighbor, it can be a shock!
Blu’s mom has learned firsthand just how vocal her dogs can be, with Blu being especially expressive. When he feels frustrated, he doesn’t just sulk in silence; he stages a full-on protest that resembles a toddler’s tantrum. In fact, Blu’s dramatic displays have become so frequent and endearing that his mom has dedicated a YouTube channel to capturing his antics. His videos have garnered thousands of views, with fans tuning in to see this loud-mouthed, stubborn Husky assert himself.
One evening, Blu’s parents decided to go out for a much-needed date night. As they prepared to leave, they gave Blu some instructions: be a good boy and go to bed. But it seems Blu had very different plans. Left alone, Blu decided that rather than sleeping, he’d put on a little show of his own.
Not one to take instructions lightly, Blu made a beeline for his bed and shredded it to pieces. Cushions torn, stuffing everywhere – he turned his bed into a pile of fluff in no time. It was his way of saying, “How dare you leave me here alone?” And he didn’t feel the slightest bit guilty about it.
When his mom returned and saw the mess, she was shocked. Many dogs would instinctively show some level of remorse – perhaps avoiding eye contact or giving a little “I’m sorry” look. But not Blu. When his mom questioned him about the chaos, he met her accusations with unfiltered attitude. It was almost as if he was talking back, defending his choices with each howl and whimper.
“Blu… hey, don’t talk over me,” she said, trying to calm him down.
For a brief moment, he paused, looking up with wide eyes.
“You don’t know what happened?” she asked, trying to get to the bottom of the incident. “Who did this? Was it you or your sister, Luna? Who made this big mess?”
But Blu wasn’t interested in being diplomatic. He launched into another tirade, yelping and hollering as if giving a lengthy explanation of why he was justified in tearing up his bed. His face scrunched up in an exaggerated scowl, his expression one of pure defiance.
As his mom tried to keep up with his “explanations,” it became clear Blu wasn’t going to let her get a word in edgewise. He carried on with his vocal protests, almost drowning her out.
“Blu… no sir! You’re a bad boy, why did you do that, buddy?” she scolded, trying to make her voice heard over his dramatic whines. But Blu, undeterred, continued to yelp, seeming to refuse any notion of wrongdoing. His stubborn attitude made his mother’s attempts to discipline him seem almost pointless – Blu wasn’t budging.
After a few moments of his relentless protest, Blu paused, his eyes wide and attentive as if finally thinking about what he had done. He let out a quieter whine, almost as if he were reconsidering his actions. His mom seized this opportunity to give him a final warning.
“I don’t want to put you in your crate, but I will,” she said sternly.
This only seemed to reignite Blu’s determination. He resumed his vocal rebellion, clearly not pleased with the idea of time-out in his crate. Blu’s range of expressions and vocalizations made his tantrum impossible not to laugh at. And it’s precisely these antics that have turned him into a social media sensation.
Blu’s mom has documented his most memorable tantrums on YouTube, where he’s become something of a celebrity. His hilarious reactions, exaggerated facial expressions, and dramatic protests have earned him a loyal following of fans. His Instagram account has amassed over 52,000 followers, with each post and video racking up thousands of views.
For many, Blu’s defiant nature is an endless source of entertainment. His expressive face, complete with scowls and exaggerated frowns, seems almost human. And his melodramatic howls and yelps have fans across social media laughing along with his mom.
While Blu may be a handful, there’s no denying he brings plenty of laughter and joy to his family – and to his growing fanbase. From tearing up beds to “back-talking” his mom, Blu’s antics showcase both the challenges and rewards of owning a Husky. And while Blu’s mom might need an extra dose of patience with this rambunctious pup, she knows his spirited personality is what makes him so special.
