Earlier this week, a kind stranger brought a weak and sick puppy to the clinic after finding it abandoned on the street. The veterinary team immediately began treating the fragile pup, unaware that their day would take an unexpected turn. Soon, the mother dog herself appeared at the clinic’s entrance, carrying another puppy in her mouth.

“We were very surprised when we saw the dog,” veterinarian Baturay Oğan shared with The Dodo. “We thought [the puppy] was dead at first, but when we examined him, we realized that his heart was beating very slowly.”

The clinic staff quickly set to work on the second puppy, allowing the worried mother to stay by his side. Oğan explained that the mother had likely been separated from her litter after someone had taken her to be spayed. Without her warmth, the puppies had grown dangerously cold and sick. When she found one of her pups had been taken to the clinic, she must have followed the trail to seek help for the others.

Tragically, the devoted mother later returned with a third puppy, but it was too late to save the little one. Despite the heartbreak, her efforts ensured the survival of her remaining pups.

“Their health is good now,” Oğan explained. “Their mother is in good condition. She is a bit weak, but we feed her intensively. The mother dog and the puppies are staying with us.”

This incredible act of love has touched countless hearts, showing the lengths a mother will go to protect her young. Thanks to her persistence and the clinic’s compassionate care, she and her surviving puppies are no longer alone and can look forward to a brighter future together.
