In a deeply upsetting case that has grabbed attention in Las Vegas, a man is facing serious charges after being seen on video violently throwing a dog into a dumpster. This heartbreaking incident has led to an outcry from the community and animal lovers everywhere. What started as a search for a missing dog turned into a disturbing scene no one expected to witness. Authorities acted quickly, and now the man is being held responsible for what he did.
Dog Thrown Into Dumpster During Frustrated Outburst

The man involved has been identified as 30-year-old Alexis Flores. He is now facing three charges related to animal abuse. According to a police report, Flores told officers that he was upset with the dog and wanted to “teach him a lesson.” The disturbing incident took place around 9 a.m. on April 14 near the 5500 block of Sheila Avenue in Las Vegas.
Investigators reviewed a video showing Flores grabbing a small dog, later confirmed to be named Marley, by the neck and forcefully tossing him into a dumpster. The footage led to public outrage, and law enforcement quickly began their search for the suspect.
Police Use Tips and Video to Track Down Suspect

After the video was released to the public, police spoke with many people to help identify the man in the clip. One neighbor came forward and said they recognized the SUV seen in the video. Later, one of Flores’ own family members told police they believed the dog belonged to Flores and that he was the person in the video.
When questioned by officers, Flores admitted that Marley had run off earlier that day. He said it took him 45 minutes to find the dog, and during the search, he fell and got even more frustrated. This moment of anger, he claimed, led to what happened next.
Dog Found Safe, But Legal Consequences Await

Flores told officers that Marley’s behavior often upset a young child in the home. He said, “Marley is so annoying and frustrating that he decided to teach him a lesson,” as noted in official documents. Police also recorded Flores saying that Marley had either nibbled or tried to bite his daughter, which pushed him to react harshly.
Flores admitted that he “messed up” and said he didn’t mean to kill the dog, but now understands that Marley could’ve died. Thankfully, a neighbor found Marley the next day, on April 15. Police later confirmed that Marley was recovering and “doing fine.”
Flores was arrested on April 18, posted bond, and is expected to appear in court again in June.
