Gregory and Victoria Hudler, both veterans, spent two agonizing years searching for their beloved emotional support dog, Jodie. The couple was heartbroken after Jodie was rehomed without their consent, allegedly sold by a family member. Though devastated, they never lost hope of finding her, even as the chances of a reunion seemed to fade with time.

Their patience and perseverance paid off thanks to Wings of Rescue, an organization specializing in transporting at-risk pets from disaster zones and overcrowded shelters to safety. Jodie’s journey to reuniting with her family began when she was discovered in a shelter in Knoxville, Tennessee—though how she ended up there remains a mystery. Fortunately, Jodie’s microchip, registered with the Hudlers’ contact information, helped identify her and set the reunion in motion.
The rescue group ensured Jodie would safely make her way back to her family. She boarded a transport carrying 130 rescued dogs from Mississippi, traveling to New Jersey, where her long-awaited reunion awaited.
