Being away from our pets—whether for a few hours or a whole workday—can be the hardest part of our routine. Their love is so pure, so unconditional, it feels like a little piece of us stays home with them. They wait by the door, sniff our side of the bed, and stretch their tiny bodies just to catch a glimpse out the window. That kind of love is something truly special.

For one adorable Airedale Terrier named Stanley, being away from his mom is downright heartbreaking. While she was out for the day, Stanley’s dad decided to do something to cheer him up—he called Mom and put her on speakerphone so their “son” could say hello. And the reaction? Absolutely priceless.

The moment Stanley hears his mom’s voice, his entire mood shifts. His ears perk up, his tail starts wagging, and he leans in to listen, tilting his head with curiosity and excitement.
