Java the Boxer Finds Hope, Safety, and a Forever Family
When the property owner discovered Java the Boxer left behind in a recently vacated rental property, the sight was heartbreaking. Java was heavily pregnant, emaciated, and riddled with illness. Dehydrated and weak, her chances of survival—let alone safely giving birth—seemed slim. Even worse, when the landlord reached out to the previous tenants for help, they showed no concern for the dog they had abandoned.
Desperate for assistance, the property owner contacted a local rescue. Unfortunately, the organization was already at capacity and could not immediately take Java in. It was during a visit to the veterinarian that staff realized just how dire her condition was. Not only was she battling severe neglect, but she was also on the verge of delivering puppies. Stress and malnourishment had delayed labor, leaving Java’s future uncertain.

That’s when compassion stepped in. Karen, a volunteer with Lost Pet Found Pet, learned of Java’s situation and refused to let her suffer another night alone. Using her network of animal advocates, she managed to secure emergency boarding at Nob Hill Animal Clinic in Plantation, Florida. Java arrived late at night, but this time, instead of despair, she was surrounded by warmth, care, and safety.
Feeling secure for the first time in months, Java went into labor just hours later. By morning, she had delivered nine healthy puppies. Soon after, the family was transferred into the care of Florida Boxer Rescue, where Java and her little ones finally received the medical treatment, nutrition, and comfort they so desperately needed.

Though she endured intestinal parasites, flea infestations, and various infections, Java never stopped caring for her babies. Her strength carried them through their early weeks until each puppy was adopted into a loving home. The best part? Java herself was also adopted by a kind family who understood the value of second chances.

Today, the once-neglected Boxer is thriving. Her story serves as a reminder that, with compassion and teamwork, even the most desperate situations can turn into tales of love, resilience, and joy.
