Meet Odis, a dog with a truly inspiring story. This remarkable canine has overcome adversity and found his forever home, teaching those around him valuable lessons about bravery, resilience, and the power of love.
Odis’s journey began in the Manitoba reserve in Canada. Unfortunately, he was hit by a car, which likely caused his spinal cord injury. Left in a ditch, Odis spent three long days and nights alone, injured, and without food. Thankfully, a rescue group found him and brought him to the Lower Mainland Humane Society in Vancouver for treatment.
At the Humane Society, Odis found his first foster mom, who provided him with a beautiful environment and a temporary home. Then, Heather came into the picture as foster mom number two. It didn’t take long for Heather to realize that she had become a foster fail. Despite his special needs, Odis doesn’t let his past define him.
The pup is a happy, loving dog who lives in the present. One can’t help but feel moved by his unbreakable spirit. However, Odis does have some food aggression issues, which may stem from his traumatic experience of being without food for days. He doesn’t guard toys, but when it comes to food, he will fight to protect it.
Despite his challenges, Odis is strong and healthy. His recovery is nothing short of a miracle, thanks to the incredible care he received at the Lower Mainland Humane Society. Odis runs around and plays in his wheelchair, not knowing he’s different from the rest of his pack.
Odis loves being part of his doggy family. His presence has been a blessing to everyone in the household. Even when faced with setbacks, Odis’s resilience shines through, as he wakes up each day with a positive attitude and a zest for life.
Heather is eternally grateful for Odis and the impact he has had on her life. She thanks him for choosing her family and for teaching them about courage and resilience. Odis has found his forever home, and Heather promises to be his forever mom.
