In a shocking incident at Pawllywood, a dog day care facility in Massapequa, Nassau County, an employee was arrested for egregious acts of animal cruelty. Andrew Laurendi, a 21-year-old worker at the facility, faced immediate termination following the discovery of his heinous actions against the dogs under his care. The disturbing events came to light through video evidence, which captured Laurendi in the act of swinging multiple dogs over his head by their leashes.

The helpless animals were then cruelly released, causing them to plummet to the ground. In a particularly horrifying act, Laurendi was also seen smashing a dog’s face into a fence, resulting in serious injuries to the animal.
Police promptly responded to these alarming reports, leading to Laurendi’s arrest on charges of animal cruelty and torturing or injuring an animal/failure to provide sustenance. The community and pet owners of Nassau County were left reeling from the news, as trust in the safety and care provided at pet facilities was deeply shaken.
