To celebrate the finest, most innovative animal-free fashion, PETA is announcing the winners of its first-ever Fashion Awards, which recognize the industry trailblazers making fashion kinder to animals and the planet. Honorees include the following:

“From faux-leather boots worn by Taylor Swift to Gucci making fashion history with its first vegan bag, animal-free fashion is in vogue in 2023,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “Vegan fashion is not only chic and luxurious but also everywhere, and PETA is honoring the innovative designers and brands that are helping kind consumers keep animals out of their wardrobes.”
PETA also handed out two dishonors with its awards: H&M was named Villain of the Year for supporting the down industry, which cuts the feet off live, struggling birds and hacks into their necks before their feathers are stuffed into jackets, and Reformation received the Greenwasher of the Year award for marketing itself as a “sustainable” company while also selling cruel and environmentally destructive animal-derived materials.
PETA Fashion Award winners will receive a personalized framed certificate from PETA and a year’s worth of bragging rights.
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to wear”—opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETA.org, listen to The PETA Podcast, or follow the group on X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, or Instagram.
