One Happy Hound Dog

To date, the GOODS Program has delivered over 578 million meals to shelters and rescues nationwide. That’s more than 6,000 truckloads delivered to hungry animals! And Roscoe was sure happy to get his big bowls of food from GOODS.

He’d been dumped on a country road and called a dirty, old mattress in a trash pile his home. There were no good snacks or snuggly spots to curl up safely. But when Jim from 9 Lives Rescue learned Roscoe was living in such a way, he hopped in his truck and headed out to get the boy.

“As soon as I opened my truck door, he bounded to me and jumped in,” Jim of 9 Lives explained. “He was pretty skinny and hungry…. but now happy!”

“Roscoe turned out to be a wonderful, loving hound. I spend time with him every day, and he is so affectionate.”

Now, like his hound brethren, this boy loves to sing his happy tale for all to hear! Jim loves to listen to that hound dog howl so much, and he said, “Unless I find someone who loves the sound they make, Roscoe will be my forever hound.”

Without the food donations that roll in from GOODS, dogs like Roscoe wouldn’t get their chance at forever, as so many animal shelters and rescues across the country are struggling to keep up with the demand.

“Like most rescues currently, we are overwhelmed with abandoned animals. Without the GOODS Program, there is no way we could continue to save lives. This program is everything to us, and we are so appreciative of all involved.”
