We’re Happier Than Ever that Billie Eilish, one of the most acclaimed and influential artists in the world, is speaking up for our fellow animals—and PETA’s making sure the world remembers it with a bold new billboard in Times Square declaring: Billie Eilish Is 100% Right. You Can’t Love Animals and Eat Them, Too. After all, birds of a feather stick together—and she’s chosen the right flock.

The gigantic display—next to a McDonald’s and Popeye’s—is giving Big Apple passersby food for thought, including fans headed to watch Billie’s new concert film, Hit Me Hard and Soft, at the AMC and Regal theaters nearby.

What’s for LUNCH? Not Animals!

The world-famous pop star caused a stir when she called out the hypocrisy of claiming to love animals while eating them. “Eating meat is inherently wrong … You can eat meat, go for it. You can love animals. But you can’t do both.

And she’s right. Pigs are soothed by music and love playing with toys. Cows form deep bonds with one another and mourn when they’re separated from their loved ones. Chickens communicate constantly and dream when they sleep. Many species of fish create artworks to “woo” potential mates. But in the meat, egg, and dairy industries, these sensitive individuals languish on filthy farms, are mutilated without pain relief, and are violently slaughtered for their flesh. They often spend their entire short lives in pain, fear, and misery, unable to feel the sun on their backs or even breathe fresh air. The fishing industry kills hundreds of billions of animals worldwide every year, causing suffering on a colossal scale and devastating entire marine ecosystems.

Eilish doubled down on her message by sharing footage from inside factory farms—the bloody, gruesome reality that non-vegans would rather look away from. By using her massive platform to expose how animals suffer behind slaughterhouse walls, on farms, or in fishing nets, she’s encouraging fans to match their compassion with their choices and leave animals off their plates.

And many of her followers did—with some posting that Eilish opened their eyes, including, “Billie Eilish made me go vegan” and “Just saw Billie’s Instagram story. I am now a vegetarian.”

Use Your Power To Help Our Fellow Animals—By Going Vegan

Eilish also encouraged her fans to “watch a documentary or two” to better understand the realities behind animal agriculture. Dominion, Earthlings, and Cowspiracy are powerful places to start.

Being a copycat is good when it comes to kindness. Going vegan is a simple switch that comes with massive benefits—for yourself, the planet, and other animals.
