Kuro arrived only a few hours old after being found by himself in a gutter, his umbilical cord still attached.
We knew he was premature , just 73g! He was taken to be hand reared by one of our staff. He lacked the ability to suckle properly so needed to be drip fed, being so tiny, he could only feed small amounts every 2 hours day and night. This continued for 5 weeks as he was struggling to eat and gain weight. His consistent gastro issues resulted in an umbilical hernia at 4 weeks old. As he progressed, he had a number of setbacks along the way requiring numerous courses of antibiotics, additional fluids and other medications. At 8 weeks old he was hospitalised for 24 hours! This didn’t stop our little fighter.
It took kuro a while to start thriving in life. At 5 months old he finally started to meet his development markers, had his hernia fixed, and was neutered. He met a lot of his milestones quite late and can be a bit slower with new things. He occasionally still has a sensitive stomach and will probably always be a small cat. That doesn’t hold him back.
Now Kuro is winning at life, he is a ball of energy and absolutely loves to play. He is incredibly social with people and very good at being handled, very boisterous and confident cat. Ruling the roost in his forever home!
